Budget Deal Eliminates Preservation Tax Credits

(The following message is passed along from the Secretary of the NC Department of Cultural Resources.)

The Legislature did not include Historic Preservation Tax Credit programs in the proposed budget.

With your help, there is a glimmer of hope if you act immediately. Please take immediate action to let the leadership of the NC General Assembly know that an extension to December 2015 of the Historic Tax Credits is needed until this issue can be fully studied in the long session. Without an extension our local economies will be devastated.

Please make calls to Speaker Tillis, President Pro Temp Berger and other members of the House and Senate leadership to express your concerns for your local economy should they not extend the Historic Tax Credit for at least one year. (Contact information found at  www.ncleg.net.)

Sincerely,

Susan Kluttz
