Make your plans now to join AIA North Carolina and our strategic partners in the North Carolina Recovery Coalition, Carolinas AGC, ACEC NC, and PENC for the 2014 NC Legislative Day in Raleigh, May 28.

The State Construction Office has reported that state agencies and universities are facing more than $4.9 billion in building deficiencies because of deferred maintenance and repairs. Elected leaders have forestalled decisions about capital spending on state buildings for far too long. We’re going focus the General Assembly’s attention on what “the cost of doing nothing” means to the infrastructure and economy of North Carolina.

This is a unique opportunity for you join your peers from the design and construction community as we show our strength as an industry to members of the NC General Assembly, as well as spend time face-to-face with influential state legislators.

The day will kick-off at the AIA NC Center for Architecture & Design with a review of current construction industry legislation and a briefing on our state’s capital building needs. From there, you will join fellow AIA members for a day at the Legislative Complex where you will have an opportunity to engage with members from the General Assembly. This event is free to all AIA members. All we ask is that you to register in advance.
